“Language pedants hew to an oral tradition of shibboleths that have no basis in logic or style, that have been defied by great writers for centuries, and that have been disavowed by every thoughtful usage manual” – Steven Pinker

There are stories that are wrapped in the pages of a book – to be read. And there are stories that are told visually through pictures – to be seen. And then there are stories that defined stories for us, at least in our childhood – the ones that are told.

The tradition of oral story-telling is as old as telling. All of us have stories woven within us as a part of our being but not all of us tell these tales. The ones who do, become a story-teller. They are adept at crafting a tale from their experiences at being. To listen to them is like opening up a rare treasure, one that is not accessible to all and not forever. These stories cannot be arrested in written words for eternity; they are here and now.
